This book is an expression of Leslie Leonpacher's
tastes as an artist. This special, collectible first edition is meant to
convey the book as a work of art.
The story, images, paper, and ink were
chosen to reflect her sensibilities. The book is hand-bound, the inks and
pages are of the highest quality, and the clay fleur-de-lis medallion was fired
in Leslie's studio.
Jane Brewster, a New Orleans native and Katrina
victim, was selected to illustrate the book for her special talents, and her
personal commitment to the very animals the book
celebrates.
